“The Water Is Wide”(ザ・ウォーター・イズ・ワイド)数年前にNHKの連続テレビ小説の「マッサン」の中で、エリーが歌っていた曲と言えば、分かる人も多いかも。
「水が広くて、渡ることができません。飛んで渡ろうにも、翼もありません。
どうか、二人を運ぶ船をください。
そうすれば、私と愛する人は漕いで渡ることができるから…」とっても切ない歌です。

これからいろいろとイベントでご一緒すると思っていた方が居たのですが、ある時その方に突然の訃報がありました。
その方は独特の世界観をもつミュージシャンで、葬儀は本人の生前の意向で音楽葬という形になりました。
みんなそれぞれ持ち寄った楽器で彩を加えたとても印象深い演奏でした。。
ですので、これを聞くとその人のことを、タバコ吸いながら、取るに足らない会話をしたのを思い出します。
